Yardley London Gentleman Urbane EDT for Men 100ml

Gentleman Urbane is Yardley's take on the fougere, which is the family most classic men's fragrance sits in: aromatic herbs on top, wood and musk underneath. It launched in 2019 and is the more contemporary of the Gentleman line.

It opens sharp and clean on lavender, lemon and bergamot. That fades within the first half hour into the green heart, artemisia and thyme, which is where the fragrance actually spends most of its time. What it settles into is musk, sandalwood and patchouli: warm, dry, and closer to the skin than the opening suggests.

The practical case for it is that it is not loud. In an office, a meeting or a car in Lahore traffic, a heavy oud or a sweet gourmand becomes everyone's problem. This one keeps a respectful distance while staying present, which is the whole point of a fougere.

Suits: daytime, office wear, and men who want a fragrance that reads as put-together rather than attention-seeking. It works year round but is at its best in cooler months, when the woody base holds longer.

Worth knowing: this is an Eau de Toilette, so the concentration is lighter than an EDP. Expect a few hours of clear projection and a soft skin scent after that. Two sprays is plenty. 100ml at this price is a lot of fragrance for the money.
