Damaged hair is a structural problem, not a moisture one. Heat styling, bleach and months of sun open up cracks in the cuticle, and once that outer layer is broken the hair goes rough, tangles constantly and snaps when you comb it. Conditioner alone smooths that over. It does not fill it.
This shampoo is built around amla oil extract and liquid vegetable keratin. Keratin is what hair is actually made of, so a hydrolysed version small enough to get into the shaft is the closest a wash-off product gets to patching the damage rather than coating it. Niacinamide, apple and green tea round the formula out.
Amla is worth a note of its own. It has been used on hair across the subcontinent for generations, well before the shampoo industry started putting it on labels, and it is one of the few traditional ingredients the big brands adopted rather than invented.
Which Fructis do you need? Flaking and an itchy scalp: Anti-Dandruff 2-in-1. Hair snapping and breaking: Grow Strong. Damage from colour, heat or the sun: Goodbye Damage. Normal hair that just feels dry: Aloe Hydra Bomb. Very dry, thick or coarse hair: Oil Repair 3 Butter.
Worth knowing: 400ml. Damage repair is cumulative, so give it a few weeks rather than judging it after one wash. And if the ends are truly fried, no shampoo can rebuild them. A trim plus this to protect what is left is the faster route.
Full ingredient list is printed on the product packaging. Formulations are set by the brand and can change between batches — always read the pack before use.
