Enchanteur Charming Talcum Powder, 125g

Talc is one of those products that never really went out of fashion in Pakistan, for the obvious reason. Between May and September, a shower buys you about twenty minutes before the humidity catches up. A dusting of this after towelling off is what stretches that.

Enchanteur builds its scents using French perfumery structure, and Charming is the citrus one. It opens bright, then settles onto a heart of rose and muguet, with bulgarian rose, white jasmine and vanilla underneath. It is a softer, more grown-up scent than the sharp baby-powder smell most talcs give you, which is why it works as a light fragrance layer on its own.

The powder itself is finely milled, so it goes on smooth rather than clumping. Across the shoulders, back and anywhere clothing rubs, it takes the damp edge off and stops that sticky feeling under a shirt.

Suits: daily use in summer, after a shower or before dressing, and layering under the matching Charming deodorant or lotion if you want the scent to last longer.

Worth knowing: 125g is the standard bottle and lasts most people a couple of months at daily use. Shake it into your hand and apply from there rather than puffing it around at face level, which is sensible practice with any talc.
